About Pacific IVF Institute

Pacific In Vitro Fertilization Institute is a fertility clinic in Honolulu, based at Kapiolani Medical Center on Punahou Street. It was founded by gynecologists specializing in infertility together with a doctoral embryologist, and treatment is handled by a team of physicians, biologists, laboratory technicians and nurses; patients see each of its three physicians during an IVF cycle. Described services include IVF with ICSI, donor egg IVF, egg freezing for fertility preservation, preimplantation genetic screening and testing, care for gay and lesbian families, and outside monitoring for patients from the neighbor islands or overseas.

Medical Director

Dr. Kosasa is a professor emeritus and past chief of reproductive endocrinology at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in architecture and earned his medical degree at the McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Boston Hospital for Women, and his Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology was completed at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kosasa is also a consultant for Maternal and Reproductive Health for the Food and Drug Administration.
